Introduction:

As the weather begins to warm up and the sun begins to set a little later, our body desires different foods as the season changes. Understanding what foods our body is calling for and why can help you to have a more diverse and abundant diet. In this article, I am going to be talking about the different fruits and vegetables that are in season during the spring months.

What is seasonal food?

Eating seasonally means you purchase and eat foods around the time of year they are most abundant. Each season depending on how the weather changes determines what produce can be grown during that time of harvest. With all the food we have available in our world today it is hard to even know what foods are in season.

How do we know which foods are in season?

The way you find out what foods are in season is to go to your local farmer’s market where they only grow according to the season. By going to the local farmer’s market, you support our local farmers and help the community’s economy. You can learn so much about where the fruits and vegetables are grown and how they are grown, giving you the opportunity to learn more about the foods and how amazing they are for you.
