Optimizing Well-being with Infrared Light Therapy: Enhance Energy and Skin care

Our skin begins to lose its elasticity, creating wrinkles as we age. Our skin is the biggest organ in our body; it regulates our thermodynamics, keeps toxins out, excretes toxins from the inside, protects our body from bacteria, and much more. Our skin is what can tell us how we feel if we are sick or have inflammation, and it gives us different sensations to help warn us of other functions happening in the body and much more. Taking care of our skin starts from the inside, but today, I will be sharing a tool you can use to treat the outside and interior of your body using the power of infrared light therapy.

What is Infrared light therapy?

Light therapy is a treatment that may help the skin, muscle tissue, cells, and other parts of the body heal. During treatment, you are exposed to low levels of red or near-infrared light. Infrared light is energy your eyes can't see, but your body can feel.

These red lights hit your skin, and the red light penetrates the skin, acting on your skin's ATP cells. Some scientists believe it will help with the rejuvenation of the cell. This is important for your energy and the longevity of your skin and cells. These lights do not damage the skin or other body parts, like a sun tanning booth or other light therapy devices.

These light therapy devices act on the same receptors in your body that react to Sunlight. This has been associated with bettering depressive symptoms and hormone balance.

Why is ATP necessary?

ATP is the currency your body uses to create energy. It is one of the primary molecules that help regulate our energy levels and the rate of aging within our body. ATP is what helps to keep energy stored and adequately managed. ATP is produced by exercising, getting Sunlight, and eating nourishing foods. Fasting can help boost your ATP levels naturally.

Getting Sunlight and exercise are great ways to encourage them. Taking a sunshine walk first thing in the morning fasting can be great for your metabolism and ATP levels.

As we age, our ATP levels begin to plummet, and this leads to chronic stress, fatigue, weight gain, and much more. When we don't move our bodies, live a stressful lifestyle, and eat unhealthy foods, our body's energy cells begin to die off. This process is called senescence, but we can stop it or at least prolong it with exercise, red light therapy, and nutritional guidance.

One study found that it increased ATP levels in animals by 80%; if you'd like to read more on this study (Click here)

Risks of not getting enough Sunlight

Vitamin D is crucial for many bodily functions, from hormones to our immune system. Vitamin D plays a significant role in our overall vitality.

Sunlight is the primary source of Vitamin D for humans. Vitamin D affects our density, immune system, mood, and organ health.

If you struggle with depressive symptoms or depression, in the winter months, we don't get as much Sunlight, especially in colder climates. This can cause you to create Seasonal Affective Disorder.

Not enough Sunlight can cause an imbalance in your circadian rhythm, responsible for our wake and sleep cycles. When this is out of balance, it can lead to sleep deprivation, which can affect our mental health and overall health.

When we do not get enough Sunlight, it affects our immune system again. The production of Vitamin D is crucial for antibodies and T-cell formation.

Lastly, not enough Sunlight can dramatically affect our ATP production. This affects our energy output and our body's ability to conserve energy.

Just by not getting enough UV rays and infrared light, it can dramatically affect your health. Spending time in the sun can be a great way to prevent many of these health-related issues.

How does infrared light therapy enhance skincare?

Our skin is the biggest organ in/our body; it protects us from toxins, chemicals, and bacteria. It is our shield but also our secretor for toxins in the body. It helps with symptom identification of diseases and much more.

Using red light therapy on your skin helps stimulate collagen production, rejuvenate the cells in your skin, providing it with structure, and strengthening the elasticity of your skin, helping with aging.

A study conducted in the National Library of Medicine found that participants who used Infrared light therapy saw a 25-50% improvement in skin color tone and an improvement in elasticity, wrinkles, and collagen stimulation. (Study)

Other Benefits of Light Therapy

Treat skin conditions: Red light therapy treats skin conditions like skin cancer, psoriasis, warts, etc. Red light can kill skin cells and reactivate new cells beneath the skin.

Reduce stretch marks: Strengthening the elasticity and collagen in your skin can help reduce stretch marks. I recommend using Red light post-partum or while you are losing weight.

Improve scars: It promotes healing, so using red light therapy on your scars can help eliminate them. Vitamin E. oil and coconut oil massage can help as well.

Improve hair growth: It stimulates collagen, and collagen can help with air growth, so along with taking some good biotin, horsetail, and some mineral peptides, it can be a great way to bio-hack your hair to grow.

Improve acne: Eliminating toxic chemicals from your skincare routine and diet will help with acne improvement, and using a red light therapy mask can be a great way to speed up the healing process while you are making these changes.

The recommended dose of light therapy each week

Ideally, you want to practice light therapy 1-3 times a week for 10 minutes a piece, depending on the season. Doing it each day for 10 minutes is healthy as you get used to it.

A study done on multitudes of participants showed a decrease in depressive symptoms and an increase in energy and alertness with just 15 minutes of light exposure.

It is ideal to get out in the sun at least a few times a day and take a few deep breaths to take a break from work or just to get some fresh air. This will improve your mental and physical health.

Best devices to order

Now, the cheapest route would be to aim for 10-15 minutes of sun exposure each day, but there is state-of-the-art technology out there now with excellent red light therapy devices you can purchase for your home. Linked below are my favorite companies. You do not have to break the bank to get the benefits of Sunlight.

Takeaway

Overall, the biggest takeaway from this article is to get out and absorb some sunshine. It helps more than you know, and getting a small dose daily can be a great way to keep your mind and body healthy.
